We finally own our home! We closed on the 31st, and mom and dad got here Friday the 4th, and Dad immediately set to work. He didnt even bother saying "Hi",...just started digging. He has been hard at work from 8am to 4 pm everyday, planning, digging, laying pipe (hee hee), running to Home Depot 6X a day, building, pouring cement, shoveling sand, leveling, screeting dirt, measuring and sweating. Bob and I help out when we are able to, but we still have to work everyday, so its mostly my 70 year old (but very fit) father giving of himself. We still have a lot of work to do, we have some trees to plant, and a brick patio laid out ready for the bricks, and a gazebo to put up, and yard to level, and Kenah's bed to build.
Mom had been hard at work too, unpacking, organizing, cleaning, rearranging, cooking, sewing, doing crosswords, shopping, planting, and helping out dad. She made a really cool looking leather padded headboard for my bed, and is going to help me with some painting.
They have both been invaluable and I would like to take this time to thank them (profusely) again for all their help and support, and Golf. They are truly Kindred spirits.
Speaking of being invaluable, I'd also like to put a shout out to Chris, Bob's mom, who came down here on Tuesday the 8th, ( her birthday...Happy Birthday Chris) . She has also been shopping, cooking, cleaning, organizing, buying us cool stuff (the doggy steps for AJ to get up on our bed were ingenious) and helping with the headboard... but most of all she has been keeping AJ occupied and watching the girls while we try to get stuff done. Now THAT is invaluable. I know I dont need to say it again, because AJ is the real reason you came down here, but THANK YOU again for all your help!!
Im sorry I didnt have any pictures of the house to put up, but we have been slightly busy here, and I want to wait until everything is done before I show pictures.
Everything we have planned should be done by the time we're ready to sell it... :)
